Stacey Mitchell, one of our HART postgraduate research students, recently completed her Master’s by Research under the supervision of Dr Jacquelyn Allen-Collinson and Dr Adam Evans. Stacey’s research investigated gender inequalities in golf, and examined in-depth the perceptions and embodied experiences of women amateur golfers at a case-study golf club in the English East Midlands. As an experienced golf player herself, Stacey also drew on her own autoethnographic reflections of the lived experience of golf. She successfully passed her viva examination earlier in the year, and is due to graduate from the University of Lincoln this September. Stacey’s postgraduate research led directly to the offer of a key post at The Golf Foundation, where she now works as a Regional Development Officer, taking a lead on Girls’ Development.
